Ray married the musician John Cusimano in 2005, and once said that they haven’t stopped talking since they met. Surprisingly, she told Good Housekeeping that she still puts her career before her marriage as, “I can’t give a man an enormous amount of attention, and John is totally down with that.” After leaving a trail of broken hearts behind her, she said if anyone she was dating started to be demanding with time, she simply moved on.

After starring as herself in the Young and Hungry, she has also appeared in other shows like 30 Rock and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. In 2017, she also made her film debut in the animated Emoji Movie as the voice of Spam.
