In 1957, Rogers was sentenced to death by the state of Utah for the heinous murder of miner Charles Merrifield. Rogers was given the choice of execution by either a firing squad or hanging.

When he and his friend friend Roger Rodas (who was driving) died in a single-vehicle collision at a charity event in November 2013, you were probably shocked beyond all belief. Later, it came out that his final words were to an engineer at the event, Jim Torp, “We will be back in five minutes.” You were probably screaming. Ugh.
