Miuccia Prada

Hold up. You’re telling me that the queen of fashion is more than just an Italian designer? That’s exactly what we’re saying. Miuccia went on to study her passions, which included political science, she has a doctorate in the subject from the University of Milan. I mean, I might as well just go into the pest control business, this is pretty wild.

Brooke Shields

Shields is a gorgeous model and actress, no one can deny that. But what most people don’t know is that she actually suspended her modeling career to go to college. And not just any college. Shields attended Princeton University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages. Not bad for a model, eh?

Ken Jeong

Everyone all over the globe fell in love with the hilarious Ken Jeong in the Hangover trilogy, but long before he pursued an acting career, he is actually a licensed medical doctor. Mind blowing, yeah, we know. Jeong is the son of Korean immigrants and he received his MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. It was actually Jeong’s wife, Tran Ho, who is also a physician, that encouraged Jeong to pursue his love of acting. All that medical knowledge is coming in handy as Jeong plays a physician on the new ABC comedy Dr. Ken.

Rachel Maddow

MSNBC’s political chat program The Rachel Maddow Show is incredibly popular plus the host is crazy smart. This incredible woman of whom we are just not worthy of, has a few degrees, yeah, a few. Which includes a doctorate in political science from Oxford University, where Maddow was a Rhodes Scholar. Excuse me, I need to contact a plumber as I’ve left the tap on for far too long after reading that bombshell.

Brian May

We will forgive those of you who don’t know who Brian May is, although you should considering he’s the guitarist for the British rock band, Queen. The man’s a legend who also has a Ph.D in astrophysics from the Imperial College in London and is now a Visiting Researcher at the school. You want to know the truly inspiring part? It took him over 35 years to finish. He had finished most of his degree from 1970-74, this was just as Queen began scoring international success. But his love for astronomy never faded, so at the age of 59, in 2006, he re-registered and finished his degree in less than a year. You know what that means? No student ever gets to complain about anything ever again.

Gerard Butler

Did your jaw just drop to the floor as you saw Gerald Butler’s name come up on this list? Yeah, don’t worry, we’re right there with you. This ridiculously handsome, Scottish actor graduated from Glasgow University with a law degree. That law degree sure has come in handy especially when he’s had run-ins with the police. Like the time in 2009 when he was charged with criminal battery after a quarrel with a photographer.

Shaquille O’Neal

Shaq is easily one of greatest centers in NBA history, that’s a fact no one can dispute. However, he’s never been one content to have millions or to have just retired from the NBA, he’s even attempted a rapping career. But his true dream became reality when he earned a Ed.D in education from Barry University. An Ed.D is The Doctor of Education – I know, pretty impressive for a 7’1″ former professional athlete. Oh yeah, here’s a super fun fact, at his graduation ceremony in 2012, Doc O’Neal wore a triple extra-large robe.

Wladimir Klitschko

Klitschko is of course a boxing legend. The Ukrainian born professional boxer is a former world heavyweight champion of three major sanctioning bodies (WBA, IBF, and WBO). He’s also the guy who won over Nashville star Hayden Panettiere’s heart. He may be a macho hunk, charitable man, fiance, and father to Kaya (whom Panettiere gave birth to last winter), but he’s also a well educated man. Klitschko actually has a doctorate in sports science from Kiev University. Dr. Klitschko also speaks four languages, Ukrainian, Russian, English and German.

David Duchovny

Spooky Mulder was a very intelligent man in the popular and addictive show The X Files, and that definitely extends to the man who portrayed him. Duchovny has earned a B.A. in English Literature from Princeton University and an M.A. in English Literature from Yale University. I suddenly feel inferior, the man went to Princeton and Yale after all. Oh yeah, did we forget to mention he’s not just an actor but also a musician and published author of two books. Yeah, I know, very impressive.

Mayim Bialik

She’s more than just an actress portraying a science genius on the popular TV show, The Big Bang Theory, she’s a genius in real life. She started her acting career as a child and her claim to fame was as the teen star of NBC’s ’90s hit Blossom. Later, she took time off from acting and attended UCLA, where she completed a triple major (Hebrew, Jewish Studies and neuroscience) for her undergrad degree. That’s right, a triple major, that’s freaking impressive to say the least. She didn’t stop there though. In 2008, Bialik went on to earn a Ph.D in neuroscience from the school. Her dissertation, you may wonder is an interesting read titled, “Hypothalamic Regulation In Relation to Maladaptive, Obsessive-Compulsive, Affiliative, and Satiety Behaviors in Prader-Willi Syndrome.” Let that sink in.

James Franco

I mean, where do we begin? James Franco is the epitome of an overachiever! While he was already a very successful actor, Franco moved to the big apple to simultaneously earn graduate degrees – yeah, that’s not a typo, he simultaneously earned graduate degrees. Columbia University (writing, which he earned in 2010), New York University (film-making) and Brooklyn College (fiction writing). Oh yeah, he also participated in a low-residency MFA poetry program at Warren Wilson College at the same time. Guess what he’s up to now? Why he’s only a PhD student in English at Yale University. Yale, people, Yale. AND, he’s taken classes at the Rhode Island School of Design. Oh wait, one more thing, he’ll be teaching a film class through his own school, Studio4. I just can’t even.

Beauty and brains for this supermodel who graduated cum laude in 1999 from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study of New York University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Comparative Religion and Eastern Philosophy. She then continued her studies at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Umm, can we say impressive?

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria is easily the most gorgeous Hollywood starlet but she’s also a very smart woman. In May of 2013, she received her master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge. Her thesis was titled, “Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers.” This is one very intelligent woman who is a role model to many out there, and not just Latina women, but women all over.
