At the start of the show, Charlie was a totally self-involved former rockstar and recovering addict. His journey on the island however transformed him into a healthier, well-adjusted, and kinder person. And at the end, we watched as he sacrificed himself so that others could survive.

No doubt about it, watching as Felix’s body wasted away from AIDS is truly heartbreaking, especially as it is the final scene in the hospital where Ned and Felix declare their undying love for each another before Felix passes away.
