Smuggling Gold Bars
A man arrived in an Air India flight to Panaji in 2014 from Mumbai. When trying to pass through security, the customs agents discovered something rather interesting. The man said he was there on business, and yet he couldn’t name any hotels he was there to work with. After a search, it turns out he was holding six gold bars in his rectum, each one weighing 100 grams. He was attempting to smuggle them into the country.
Cocaine In A Diaper
This is where things get even weirder. In 2013, two women were arrested at JFK Airport for smuggling drugs. How did they smuggle the drugs, you ask? They were stopped by drug-sniffing dogs, which is how they got an extra pat-down. During this, officers discovered both of the women were wearing diapers made of duct tape that were filled with cocaine. How creative.
