It may be hard to believe today, but Prince Andrew was reportedly the Queen’s favorite child for most of his life. You might think that someone in Elizabeth II’s position would have no favorites. You might also think that Prince Charles would get the role if she had favorites as heir to the throne.However, according to reports, the monarch has always had a slightly greater preference for Andrew. This is apparently because she had more time for motherhood when his child was born. Charles, on the other hand, was largely raised by nannies because his mother was too busy with her other duties. This means that Andrew probably had a better upbringing than his older brother.

Unfortunately, Andrew’s popularity with the Queen meant that he could apparently get away with more than other members of the family. In his biography ‘Prince Andrew: The End of the Monarchy and Epstein’, Nigel Cawthorne wrote that he was ‘spoiled at every opportunity’ and staff reportedly found him ‘exhausting’. The Prince’s nanny reportedly called young Andrew “Baby Grumble” because of his stubbornness and anger. He was reportedly never afraid of throwing a tantrum. According to the book, even his parents sometimes had problems with his behavior. Cawthorne wrote about the incident when Andrew allegedly made derogatory comments about “the common people” on a television program he was watching with the family. Philip is said to have reacted very critically to this comment.
