1969 Chevrolet AstroVette
Alan Bean, the fourth person to set foot on the moon as part of the Apollo 12 mission, was one of the famous drivers of the 1969 Chevrolet AstroVette. The car could be deemed as a concept car and was designed to test the limits of aerodynamics. It had a 7-liter V8 engine under the hood and a two-door roadster as the body style. The 1969 Chevrolet AstroVette was designed with an extended nose, closed rear wheel opening, roadster windshield, and tapered tail. The 1969 Chevrolet AstroVette’s interior was like that of a Chevy Corvette except that the steering wheel was a racing wheel.
1964 Ford GT40 PROTOTYPE
The 1964 Ford GT40 Prototype sparked the fuse of the infamous competition between Ferrari and Ford, and those who had not yet seen the movie with Christian Bale and Matt Damon should start watching the film. The 1964 Ford GT40 Prototype was a factory car that had a light chassis. It was Ford’s first entry in Le Mans and held the honor of being the first GT40 to finish at the podium. The GT40 only had a trial run for fifty miles even with its completely new design of using 24-gauge steel instead of 22-gauge steel. The 1964 Ford GT40 Prototype was shipped to France, and it was recorded to blow beyond 200 miles per hour.
