Even though the show did not get critical acclaim or the best ratings, it still saw plenty of success over the years. Things changed for it when it finally went into syndication, which was when it finally became popular among teens and children. The show has since spawned spin-off movies and reunion shows. Robert Reed (Mike Brady)

Before this actor took on the role of Mike Brady, he took up drama at both Northwestern University and then London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Once he was done with his studies, he went back to the United States. He joined an off-Broadway theater group known as “The Summer Shakespearewrights” and then landed his first big acting role in 1961. We are referring to the role of Kenneth Preston, a recent law school graduate that he played in The Defenders.

Reed After The Show

It was seven years after his onscreen debut that he bagged the lead role in The Brady Bunch. He is best known for playing the family man on the show! As Mike Brady, he stole the hearts of the viewers. He starred in the spin-offs and worked on smaller projects before he started to teach drama at the University of California – Los Angeles. In 1992, he passed away at the age of 59. At first, it was said that he died of colon cancer, although it was eventually revealed that AIDS exacerbated the condition.
