Kirk Douglas, the iconic star, died when he was 103 years old. Michael posted on Instagram, “It is with deep sorrow that my brothers and I declare that Kirk Douglas leaves us today at the age of 103.” He added, “He was an icon in the nation, an actor from the golden age of cinema who lived well in his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in.
John Singleton
Popular for managing Boyz n the Hood in 1991, the director was the first African American and the youngest person ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director at the age of 24. Singleton also directed 2 Swift 2 Furious, Shaft, Higher Learning, Poetic Justice, and Rosewood, the drama of 1997. Singleton died in April 2019, after his life support had been switched off, days before the stroke.
