The conversion of the Colombian soap opera, Yo soy Betty, la fea, to ABC’s Ugly Betty, will be recalled by Silvio Horta, an American screenwriter and director. He acknowledged the Golden Globe for Best Satire Series-Ugly Betty-saying, “Like most of us up here, Betty is an immigrant, and The American Dream is alive and well, and within the reach of anyone who wants it.” The first ten Cuban-Americans started their own production business, Silent H Productions, frequently mispronounced as a satirical reference to their last name.
