On this day in 1977, Kanye Omari West became known as Yeezy. This well-known rapper has shown us that he’s more than just a rapper with his own clothing line. He was born in Atlanta, but he spent his formative years in the Windy City. In the early 2000s, while working as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, he first rose to prominence in the music industry. The “Gold Digger” singer produced singles for several other artists during this period.
