Moonshiners focuses on the cast that illegally makes moonshine. Lots of viewers touched in for the docudrama show. Every now and then, someone from the show would get stopped by the police with the cameras rolling. They can often walk or drive away, although it does make for TV drama. Tim Smith once said that law enforcement asked him about the show before. He invited the cop for dinners!
