These days, they rarely go to the shop since the camera crew gets in the way of sales and customers. They only go there to shoot now.

A lot of the collections have been planted in American Pickers, so it is worthwhile to see if there is anything else that they were up to. They basically find collections and then sell the focal points off it. When they do sell, they stage the negotiations. This comes as no surprise as there is no way the seller would always bicker with Mike and Frank. The target price is agreed upon before the pickers get there.
