Katie Ledecky

Barely 22 years old, Ledecky is on her way to becoming the greatest female swimmer in history. At the age of 15, she took the world by surprise and won the gold in the 800 m freestyle at the 2012 London Olympics. Over the next four years, Ledecky won nine golds at the World Championships and five more at the Pan Pacific Championships. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Ledecky captured four gold medals — 4×200 free, and 200, 400 and 800 freestyle — and one silver, and she added five more golds at the World Championships in 2017. At Stanford University, Ledecky set 11 American records and 14 NCAA records, and the legend is currently getting ready for the spotlight at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Lindsey Vonn

Four-time World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn is rounding out the list. She only tasted Olympic gold once, in downhill at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, but Vonn was more successful at the World Cup. In 1982, she made history by securing the most World Cup race victories by a woman. She is second only to Ingemar Stenmark. After Vonn battled injuries for several years, she announced that she would be retiring in 2019. Off the slopes, she famously went out with Tiger Woods for two years and she posed in the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (it was her third time).
