Amanda Beard
Newport Beach native Amanda Beard has enjoyed a successful career in sport and modeling. She made her Olympic debut in Atlanta in 1996 — at the astonishing age of 14, and claimed gold in the 4×100 medley (and two silver medals, as well). The Californian won another gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the 200 m breaststroke (she had previously set a world record for it). Outside of swimming, she has been featured on Playboy and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and she also released her autobiography, “In the Water They Can’t See You Cry: A Memoir”, in 2012. Beard is now married with two kids and a motivational speaker.
Aly Raisman
Role model, captain and Olympian – a few words that can describe three-time gold medalist Aly Raisman (2012 floor and team, 2016 team), whose impact goes beyond the gym mat. She is sadly one of Larry Nassar’s 141 victims of abuse but she has inspired millions of people all over the world for being one of the leading voices in the fight against Nassar and USA Gymnastics. Raisman received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in 2018. The ‘Final Five’ and ‘Fierce Five’ member has also found great success in modeling, having been featured on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue several times. It is still not known whether Raisman will compete at Tokyo 2020.
