Kobe Bryant

Who doesn’t know Kobe Bryant? The iconic Laker has the distinction of being a 5-time NBA Champion and the third all-time leading scorer, among others, but two of probably his most important accomplishments in his career are the pair of gold medals that he won at the 2008 and 2012 Games. Bryant led the U.S. men’s basketball team to victory at a time when the program was floundering. After Bryant retired in 2016, he has founded Kobe Inc., won an Oscar, published the book “The Mamba Mentality: How I Play”, and partnered up to create a massive training facility for all ages called the Mamba Sports Academy.

McKayla Maroney

Former gymnast McKayla Maroney competed as one of the popular Fierce Five at the 2012 London Olympics and became an overnight sensation thanks to the “not impressed” expression she had when she received a silver medal. She may have come up short in the vault, but Maroney still won a team gold together with the Fierce Five. She continued competing for another year but she suffered several injuries which led to her retirement. The Arthur Ashe Courage Award was given to Maroney at the 2018 ESPY Awards for her brave choice of fighting against the United States Olympic Committee, USA Gymnastics, Michigan State University, and the disgraced and despicable former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar. With a passion for music, Maroney has been working on releasing her own single.
