Kurt is a libertarian and his political beliefs are very different than Goldie. In 1996 he had an interview with Toronto Sun where he spoke about them. He was raised republican but over time he became a libertarian simply because he felt there was not much of a difference between Democrats or Republicans.

Goldie and Kurt decided to move to Vancouver, British Colombia with their son to further his career in Hockey. Wyatt was playing hockey since he was a kid and his parents knew that California wasn’t the right place for him to prosper.
