The Red Hue
One of the most striking features of Mars is its distinctive red color, which comes from iron oxide, or rust, covering its surface. This iron-rich dust gives the planet its characteristic reddish appearance when viewed from Earth.
Similarities to Earth
Despite its barren and desolate landscape, Mars shares several similarities with Earth. For instance, Mars experiences seasons like Earth, although they are roughly twice as long due to its longer orbit around the sun. Additionally, Mars has polar ice caps made up of water and carbon dioxide, much like Earth’s polar regions.
