Mars boasts the largest volcano in the solar system – Olympus Mons. This massive shield volcano stands at a towering height of over 13 miles (21 kilometers) and spans a diameter of approximately 370 miles (600 kilometers). It is so large that it would cover the entire state of New Mexico.

Tharsis Bulge
Located near Olympus Mons is the Tharsis Bulge, a vast volcanic plateau that covers roughly 25% of the planet’s surface. This region is home to several other prominent volcanoes, including Arsia Mons, Pavonis Mons, and Ascraeus Mons, making it one of the most geologically active areas on Mars.
