Despite meeting in 1958, it took some time for the interest to develop on both sides. She was only 13, perhaps she wasn’t so interested in boys yet, and even though Dennis was instantly attracted to her, he couldn’t and didn’t act on it. It didn’t stop them catching glimpses at each other often and feeling warm when they spoke. Maybe the feelings were mutual?
