A Chance To Educate
When the network first pitched the idea of the show to the Roloff’s, the family couldn’t wait to tell their story and educate the world about dwarfism. Amy recalled the moment that “The Learning Channel came to us about five or six years ago”, to propose the idea. It was then she “suddenly realized we were given a great opportunity to educate people about dwarfism. Nothing [else] had depicted dwarfism in an everyday way.” Since the show Little People, Big World was first aired on the network, it received a great reception from fans and the family is continuously approached by fans saying much they love the show.
Jacob Leaves
At the beginning of the show, one of the biggest reasons why it was such a hit with viewers, was because it featured every member of the family. This meant viewers got the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into each family member and helped them get more attached to each character. So if fans got used to tuning into each episode to see their favorite characters, it would have come as quite a shock when Jacob finally made the decision to finally quit the show.
