When Kay and Phil were a lot younger, the couple decided to stay in Louisiana, their home state. They wanted to build a successful business for their children and eventual grandchildren. It was probably the best decision they made in their lives.

Phil Robertson started growing out his beard when his sons reached their teens. Ever since then, you won’t recognize Phil without his iconic beard. His sons have also followed his lead and grew out their beards after they graduated from high school.
