At that point, the team on the scene started to investigate what had happened there. There were a number of witnesses who came forward to give whatever information they could about the situation. One woman recalled that she had seen the puppies being swept away during a storm.

The first thought that ran across the firemen’s minds was that someone had not abandoned them there. What a relief! Now that clearer information had been provided, they knew that the puppies were simply pulled away by rain and a current. After that, they simply slipped inside the sewer.
