However, this role is becoming more and more powerful with more responsibility- meaning nurse practitioners are being trusted and taught how to do similar jobs as a physician would. These new roles include diagnosing, prescribing medication, and discussing treatment courses. This role is a nursing role that offers more freedom and responsibility for nurses that want a more doctor-like job.

Intensive Care Unit Nurse

The ICU of any hospital is packed with dedicated professionals who are on top of their game, that is for sure. Being an ICU nurse or critical care nurse may mean that these nurses work in special hospitals or sometimes just specialized wards. However, the difficulty of such a position is immeasurable and many hospitals require intensive training as well as continued learning before one can simply qualify to be a nurse in such a unit. These health care professionals save lives daily and are always needed in the medical industry.
