Mark Blount – Auntie Anne’s Franchisee And Real Estate Mogul
In 1997, Mark Blount joined the NBA and made his debut with the Boston Celtics four years later. He retired after an unremarkable career in 2009. The former baller invested his money by purchasing two franchises of Auntie Anne’s Pretzel franchises. He is not the only retired NBA star who is a fan. Four years later, he ended up selling the stores to instead go into real estate. It turned out to be a good idea. After investing $700,000, he is now worth $2 million. Good for him.
Dan Dickau – Barbershop Owner And ESPN Broadcaster
Many people consider Dan Dickau one of the best basketball players in the history of Gonzaga University. But, sadly, his skills did not translate all that well when he joined the big leagues. His NBA career ended after six years, which meant that he had to look for a livelihood elsewhere. He ended up opening The Barbers, which has since turned into a neighborhood staple in that area of Washington. Apart from the barbershop, he works as an on-air personality for the Pac-12 Network and ESPN.
