Shawn Kemp – Sports Bar Owner
For 14 years, Shawn Kemp enjoyed a successful time in the NBA. He was chosen for the All-NBA Second Team thrice and named an All-Star player six times. In 2003, he retired but remained involved in the world of sports in his own way. He did this by opening a sports car called Oskar’s Kitchen. Located in Seattle, it was a pretty daring endeavor for him. He kept it up and running for as long as possible. Sadly, he had to close it in 2015. He continues to work in the industry as a part-owner of Amber’s Kitchen.
Darko Milicic – Apple Grower
There is a reason Darko Milicic is sometimes called the biggest draft bust in the history of the NBA. In 2003, he was the second overall pick. He ended up jumping around the league before finally retiring while with the Boston Celtics in 2012. He now leads a quiet life of growing apples in Serbia. Before he settled into this lifestyle, he trained to be a kickboxer. The sport did not suit the big man, who would rather grow rows and rows of apple trees on a 125-acre farm instead. It sounds like he’s living the life!
