Twinkies
The idea of cabinets and shelves devoid of Twinkies is a huge bummer for many baby boomers. These golden treats are now associated with a bygone age. It was a popular joke after the Cuban Missile Crisis that the only things that would survive a nuclear meltdown were cockroaches and Twinkies. How about tenacity! Jokes aside, it raises questions about the ingredients used to create these otherwise gushy, squishy delights. That had to be some really dubious material. Twinkies are unhealthy, heavily processed foods. As if that weren’t awful enough, some have even gone so far as to deep-fry them. That is incorrect on a multitude of grounds.
White People Tacos
We need to have a serious discussion about the current situation of tacos. Its annoying “white” relative has fully taken over and eclipsed the beloved dish. The one with the salad fixings, yellow cheese, tasteless ground beef, and a big dollop of sour cream—you know the impostor we’re talking about. It is time to cease this drama around food. What, therefore, constitutes a genuine taco? A tender corn tortilla encases slices of spicy, braised beef, enhanced by the zest of onions and the freshness of cilantro. You are taken to the heart of Mexico by the authentic symphony of flavor. No more bland, tasteless food passing for tacos. We must take back the genuine thing.
