This old photo was taken as this tightrope walker was risking his life high in the sky. We’re sure his balance and concentration were both top notch as it’s pretty much required for the art. We wonder if the police officer looking on was there in case something went array, or if he was just another intrigued onlooker.

The circus was known for orchestrating boxing matches for the enjoyment of the crowd. They usually paired opposites up against one another, making for a more exciting and engaging match. As you can see here, a very large, short man was paired up against a very tall, thin man.
