Thomas Jefferson – 160
Next on the list, we have another founding father. Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd President of the United States and he was in office from 1801 to 1809. He was known for playing an important role in the creation of the Declaration of Independence as well as the expansion of U.S. territory after the Louisiana Purchase from France. He was an advocate for equality, freedom, and justice for everyone. Tying in second place, Jefferson had an IQ of 160 as well.
John Quincy Adams – 175
The 6th President of the United States was none other than John Quincy Adams. He held the position from 1825 until 1829. Popularly known as JQA, he was the son of former president and founding father John Adams. The younger man was strongly against slavery and advocated for equal rights. He called himself, “the acutest, the astutest, the archest enemy of southern slavery that ever existed.” JQA liked to keep out of European affairs as he was a supporter of nonintervention policies. He expressed opposition to the Texas annexation and he has the oldest surviving presidential photo under his belt. It dates all the way back to 1843 when he was aged 76. Having an IQ of 175 in the early 19th century meant you were smarter than 99.9999% of the population on earth.
