Secret Spy Stash

It is not every day that you learn that the previous inhabitant of your house was a secret agent. What makes this discovery all the more fascinating was that it was an “unassuming” old lady. A family made the incredible find as they renovated their home. They stumbled into a stash of spy items, the sort of thing that you would find in a video game or a movie. There was a machine gun, top-secret photos of Berlin after the Second World War bombing, and telegrams from both the War Office and Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The spy went by the name of Eileen Burgoyne and passed away at the age of 98. She had been a shadow agent in Spain, Africa, Gibraltar, and Germany. She got hired after the Second World War and must have operated during the Cold War.

Jason and Kerri Brown were excited when they found a house located in a town in the Appalachian Mountains foothills. The foreclosure went for only $75,000! The couple felt sure that this five-bedroom, two-bath house was a bargain even if it was a fixer-upper. However, it turned out to be a nightmare. They started to work on the house as soon as they paid for it. Kerri had been moving the bookcases in the house when she found a passageway into a hidden room. There was a chilling note there from a previous owner that said, “You Found It.” The note went on to say that there was a severe mold problem in the house that made them sick and forced them to move out. The Brown family moved out of there as soon as they could and sued all the people involved in the sale of the house. Good for them!
