Today’s value: 40,000 US dollars*

The Datsun 240Z, designed by Yutaka Katayama and known as the Nissan 30 and Nissan Fairly Z, is arguably the most successful sports car series ever released. At the time of its launch, it was possible to buy the Datsun 240Z for a reasonable price of around 3,500 US dollars. Its modern parts, attractive looks and powerful engine were certainly the reason why the low price of the Datsun did not make people interested enough in what Nissan was selling. There were 160,000 240Zs produced in just four years. That means baby boomers don’t need to pay an arm and a leg to replicate the experience of owning their first Datsun. All they have to spend is about $40,000.

23. Ford Falcon XB

Year(s): 1973-1976
Today’s value: 50,000 US dollars*

Would you like to buy a Ford Falcon XB? To start, a restoration project only needs a few thousand dollars. However, you’ll get closer to $50,000 if you’ve kept a Falcon in good condition and ready to drive the day you get the keys. In 2021, one person even spent $275,000 on the Falcon XB that Danny Green, a boxer, had put up for sale. A powerful “carby-fed 514ci big-block Ford” all-engine and a customized interior with a gear stick in the shape of a boxing glove are to be noted. And such modifications are not cheap.
