Schipperke
A Schipperke would make a fantastic pet for an active senior. They have a lifespan of around 15 years and are lively and playful. Some of their many loveable qualities are their inquisitive nature and confident streak. However, you do need to devote some time to train them as well. Since they grow up to weigh around 12-18 lbs, they’re suitable for an apartment that has enough space to roam around.

Chinese Crested
Unlike most of the dogs on this list, the Chinese Crested needs no grooming. However, you do need to care for their exposed skin. They have a medium amount of energy but are more than happy to sit quietly with their owners.
