Later that day, her preschool teacher contacted us to discuss her worrying conduct. She described her as being more fatigued and disengaged than usual. I discussed this with my spouse, and we both agreed to step up. We decided to install security cameras to better monitor our property. It felt like the correct thing to do, but a part of me was concerned about unearthing something more terrible beneath the surface.

For the next four days, my husband and I carefully watched the camera footage every night. Everything seemed normal—just a family going about their usual lives. Despite this, odd things continued. The flickering lights and weird sensations remained unabated. Part of me hoped for a perfectly rational answer, but another part couldn’t shake the feeling that we were missing something important.
