Chrissie Hynde produced The Pretenders since 1978. Hippie counterculture movement inspired her, working with designer Vivienne Westwood at a jointly run clothes store in London. She abandoned music fashion. She published songs like UB40, Cher and Frank Sinatra. She gave it to Actual Records owner Dave Hill after a 1978 demo tape. She resumed paying the rent she owed in her London practice space, making it all back and more.

Born in Louisiana, Rock-country artist Lucinda Williams is one of the most influential folk-rock and country-rock movements. Since 1978, she’s been in the music business and became popular for her style when she launched her debut album, Lucinda Williams. This debut featured “Passionate Kisses,” which in 1994 won Williams’ first Grammy. She’s reported to work regularly, producing two more albums to date. Her big break came when she lost on a gold-certified Gravel Route.
