Ray Davies – $12 million

Ray Davies is the main singer-songwriter for The Kinks project, with his brother Dave Davies. He’s called the godfather of Britpop’s genre. After the Kinks dissolved in the late 1990s, Davies became famous with a solo career. The Kinks received their recording deal in 1964, taking decades together. Davies wrote the hit “You Really Got Me,” their breakout. Davies guided the band through the 1960s and 1970s, sometimes introducing different styles to the band, rendering it commercially viable.
