As Mikey Lythcott traveled around the world, he made many friends along the way. The 36-year-old traveler was once an expat in Lisbon, Portugal. Like many people, he relies on social media to remain connected with his buddies from all over the globe. He liked to post photos of gorgeous beaches and marketplaces to let his friends know where he was. However, one of his posts made his friends worry about him. Mikey was an avid world traveler who has already been to 54 countries! In February 2018, he met a woman called Stacey Eno while he was in Thailand. She was an English teacher based in Gwangju, South Korea. The two of them planned to meet up in August of the same year in Bali, Indonesia. This trip was his opportunity to reach his 55th country. At the time, they had no idea that he was going to be fighting for his life only hours after their arrival in the Southeast Asian country.
