Jack had lived in this apartment for a while, so he had gotten used to all of its quirks, but to Laura, it was small and gross. The paint on the walls was chipping off little by little, it was always cold and heat-less in the winter, and there was nobody to help keep up with the maintenance. Even so, Laura held onto hope that their love would get them through this.
