Sven-Goran Eriksson’s didn’t live up to the hype that year though. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, fans were frustrated as the Three Lions were eliminated in the last 16. Rooney’s last appearance for England was in 2014 while in Brazil, his side didn’t make it past the first six days. Maybe there’s hope for England in Russia in 2018?
