Additionally Zeta-Jones found a few similarities between her “explosive” Celtic personality and her Latin character’s temperament – this made it quite easy to convincingly portray the role. Furthermore, in preparation for the film, Zeta-Jones studied dancing, riding, sword-fighting, and took Spanish lessons. Lastly, while filming all of the action and dance sequences, she had to wear heavy corsets in the hot Mexican desert – albeit this was incredibly challenging, but Zeta-Jones found the whole experience “worth suffering for”.
