Following her divorce proceedings. Cher began a two year relationship with David Geffen, a record executive. Geffen released Cher from her business arrangements with Sonny, where she had to work exclusively under Cher Enterprises, the company he ran. As a result, Geffen launched Cher’s career even more and in 1975, he secured a $2.5 million deal with Warner Bros. Records. While their relationship didn’t work out, many claim that Geffen built Cher’s musical empire.
