Richard Wyatt Did Not Report $1.1 Million In Personal Income
Just nine days after the robbery at Gunsmoke Guns, IRS conducted a raid for tax evasion. The investigation began in 2010 when an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives found out that Wyatt might be hiding six fully automatic weapons without the right permissions. Wyatt failed to report $1.1 million in personal income from 2009 to 2012. On top of that, he was charged with filing a false tax return. He was found guilty of 10 felony counts.
American Guns Had Criminals For Clients
On top of everything, American Guns also contributed to the sale of a stolen firearms. In the finale of the premiere season, a man named Wylie Newton wanted to sell a $20,000 antique Colt Pistol. It turned out to be stolen from the New Mexico Museum. He almost got away with it, only selling it on TV wasn’t the best idea. When someone who knew about the robbery saw the show, they called the authorities.
