Chopines
Let’s go back in time a little and talk about the terrible trend that was chopines. They were shoes with a very tall wooden or cork platform sole that was placed right in the middle. They had practical and symbolic functions but we have a feeling they were terrible to wear. These shoes were designed to protect the foot from unevenly paved or wet and muddy streets. The person wearing them was soon affected by the height, however, and would be thrown off balance. Go figure.
Clear Boots
This abomination, otherwise known as clear boots, is a rather recent trend we don’t quite enjoy. Brought into style by the fashion house, Yeezy, these PVC clear boots are by no means practical in any which way. They might look okay when styled well, but the fact remains that the illusion soon dissipates. As we know, humans’ bodies radiate heat. When wearing boots made of plastic (even with ventilation holes) the feet will soon get sweaty and fog up the entire boot. If you don’t believe us – look it up. People have tried these boots out and have detailed all the issues with them. That’s not even mentioning the health hazards of wearing such shoes for prolonged periods of time.
