Plant Soda Cans
It is a good idea to add old soda cans to the bottom of your deep planter. Do this before you add the shrub. The cans will make air pockets that will keep the soil aerated. This is ideal if you want the ground to be healthy for your greens. It goes without saying that the healthier the soil, the healthier the plant!
Plant Removal
While your plant probably grows in a designated pot, it does not mean that it has to stay there for the rest of its life. There are times when you will buy shrubs that you feel like replanting. If it is not that, maybe you want to move the plants around. It is not a good idea to pull the plants up because you are risking damaging the root and the shrub itself. You can prevent this by using a sharp knife to cut down the sides of your pat. When there is enough room, gently pull the plant out to keep the surrounding soil as intact as possible. This method is the best way to keep the plant in good shape as you replant it.
