Stuntmen have one of the most difficult and underappreciated professions on a movie set because what they do requires a lot of courage. Setting up the stunts requires you to be very careful not to injure the stuntman while also not making the stunt obvious to the spectators. In one scene from Titanic, a guy is dragged into a hole in the deck. And, if you slow down and look at the scene frame by frame, you can plainly see wires tied to the actor, pulling him under. Rose cut Jack’s hand off

Allowing someone to use an axe to liberate you from handcuffs is insane, especially if that person closes their eyes before taking the shot. And if you look closely at Rose swinging the axe, you’ll notice she wasn’t supposed to make that shot. She strikes the back of Jack’s hand rather than the handcuffs, which would essentially remove his hand if it were real life rather than movie magic. That would also liberate him from his restraints, albeit in a far more painful method.
