That unforgettable day, started like any other at the Colorado Spring Fire Department station. Everything seemed to be going as it usually did. Check-ups were done, coffee was made, reports filed and engines inspected. However, little did the staff know that their day was going to take a peculiar turn.

Then the mundaneness of the day was broken by a call. Still nothing unusual. After processing the details, the dispatcher passed on the information to the firefighters in the station. It was an animal rescue call, one that shouldn’t have been complicated. That was at least the feeling in the station at that time.
