Sure, that’s good pay that most people, even now, would be happy to get, but she put in a lot of hours. What’s worse, the male actors were being compensated more generously. Although her pay increased to $30,000 per week, she desired to be compensated equally.
It’s only suitable that Somers receives the same treatment. Still, when her husband attempted to negotiate on her behalf, things took a turn for the worse. John Ritter, for example, was getting paid over $150,000 per week at the time. Because she had the guts to inquire, she was sacked and had to sit out the rest of the season.

Given how much the public adored Jenny from the Block, the network was more than happy to compensate her handsomely.
Nevertheless, Jen demanded increasing money to appear on the Fox show, reportedly requesting $22 million as the seasons passed. No one was willing to pay that amount, so J-Lo walked away from the program. However, she later stated that she did so to concentrate on other projects she was involved in.
