Just 40 years ago, no one could have imagined integrating keyboards and synthesizers into heavy rock music. This is exactly how the band Van Halen started their career – until they took a decisive turn.

In the early 1980s, it was the band Van Halen who introduced the electronic sound to hard rock. By renewing the “rock sound”, they won countless new fans. The band from California knew how to perfectly combine their energy and technical skills and created a world-class show on stage. Unfortunately, the band disbanded in 2020.

When it comes to versatility, Canadian rock band Rush are second to none. In their early days, they focused on blues rock, then switched to progressive rock and hard rock. The band, which was founded in 1968, soon rose to rock heaven. In 2018, just in time for the band’s 50th anniversary, the end of the band was decided and concluded with one last tour.

This band clearly deserves a place on this list. Not least because of their influence on other well-known bands such as Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Metallica and Rage Against the Machine. In keeping with their band name, they have sent their fans into a frenzy with their sound and energy.
